fashion television Ok, let's face it. I'm getting bored doing nothing at home. So, what better thing to do than search for television series online. Yes, I scoured through the abbyys of the internet and managed to find STYLISTA! Like finally, after so long of waiting for it to be up on youtube. And I kind of like it even though some people out there may say that it does not reflect the true sense of working in a fashion magazine. But whatever, it's still a good television series to keep up with. On another note, it's OFFICIAL! Project Runway season 5 really suck. After a brilliant season 4, it kind of fell flat on the ground. Nothing revolutionary that redefines fashion at all. I guess all the talents were cast in season 4 and no new talents were found for the later season. It was kind of an underwhelming feeling watching the first episode. The first design challenge was a recycled theme from season 1, the "make-a-garment-using-supermarket-stuffs", which brought about the infamous corn husk dress. Anyways, the designers mostly used cloth-based materials, which was not what the challenge was all about. So, it missed the mark and did not have the WOW factor as compared to season 1. I've also seen the final episode. At first, I thought the winner kind of sucked, just looking at the photos, but after a while, it sunk into me, that her simplistic style was the overall best. The rest of the designers in the finale made the clothes look cheap. When you're given 5 months and $8000, you create gorgeous, revolutionary garments, not some denim jeans and cowboy boots. Also, the lack of creativity led to one designer having similar garments to Balenciaga and Alexander Mcqueen. WHAT A RIPPER! Anyways, I was looking through ontd and came across this photos. I personally think that they're wonderful. It's a composition of the 12 months of vogue editions this year alone. Surprisingly, I really like the Asian editions because they look pleasant and tranquil. The worst no doubt is the US version. I think that US Vogue will only redeem it's position as a number 1 magazine after Anna Wntour retires. |
