3-2

MJ lost 3-2 to VJ. Well, MJ was good, although by the 2nd half of the match, VJ was taking control and was firing more shots. So, what happens to a particular article that is supposed to be published in the next issue of Musings with MJ winning in mind? I'm thinking of scraping it, but I got to consult the team first. At most, we'll shorten it to be a regular 1 page article instead of a feature, and something about "sportmanship" and "team-spirit" will be written. Cliche much? You bet.

This week will be a pretty hectic week, with the badminton boys finals tomorrow and Colosseum on Wednesday. Followed by an *ahem**ahem* on Thursday, with Pre-U seminar shopping on Friday + GPP submission, as well as Ranice's birthday on Saturday. And yes, add the GP MYEs to that equation, and yes, that equates to a screwed up life led by a typical JC sudent in Singapore.

Oh, not to forget, MOOKS is a stupid shop at The Heerens. Ranice's hair is considered to be illegal according to MJ's standard. Bates will be Miss PMS *inside joke* because I handed in my essay late. And Mr Low made me read Katherina's part during tutorial just now. PFFT.

I swear I'm going to pinch Nizam at least twice a day this whole week, because this bloody boy has been abusing me this past week. Wait, until I unleash the "auntie-ness" of Della, as played by none other than Suu. And Naeem, you're so bitchy, I like. And oh, crushes are being formed in class. SEXY SCANDALOUS!

the verge

Pardon me for not updating for the past 2 days since school's being a bitch. Atlas cheerleaders just got screwed over after "boss" decided to ban gymnastics stunts for the cheerleading finals on Colosseum Day, which is roughly in 4 days time. When 3/4 of your house's routine contains stunts, you can't help but feel the pressure that they're feeling, especially when you friends are the one who are getting screwed over and who look all stressed out. And all this because of a single complaint from a parent. I mean, come on, your child, whoever that kid may be, is already, legally, able to make her/his own decisions at the age of 17, and you are still worried if he/she suffer a scratch from cheerleading. Pfft.

I got the blazer fitting yesterday, and also the college publications tee-shirt. After that, I tagged Suu, Connie and Alphonsus to Lavender to go to Concourse to get the supplies for Atlas mascot for Colosseum Day. Funny thing is, the shopping part of Concourse was demolished, so we walked to Bugis, and then, trained to Little India, where that party shop is now located. Unfortunately, the shop was closed by the time we reached there, so we were all kind of tired and disappointed.

Fast forward to when I got home, and something happened, and I lost my cool, and I just told my parents I was going out to study at airport and I did. Managed to finish my Literature essays, and GP essay, and also did revision for maths. And seriously, mats and minahs should buzz off from studying locations like the airport because fact of a matter is, they're not there for studying. They're just there to fill up the spaces.

Okay, I'm still tired, since I got home at 10, and got like 3 hours of sleep, but sleep can wait, since GPP is calling out my name. And Economics essay too. I swear to god that this week has probably been the most stressul week of my life thus far, with many more to come. And to that someone, don't be a prissy bitch, although you're a guy, and just own up to your responsibility. I can't be bothered with you no more.

one ball-ess

I realise that I'm able to hit the tennis ball with the racquet. Meaning to say, although I don't play tennis, I know how to play the game. And it's a really fun game to play, that is if you can hit the ball, instead of running after the ball. Tuesday wasn't the first time that I played tennis per se, but it was my best showing. Haha:) I guess the lessons I had when I was 9 stayed with me, and were unleashed on that fateful Tuesday.

Today was a relatively short day, as in extremely short, but of course, my stay in college was dragged due to commitments I made. Extremely happy with today's meeting, and it was very fruitful, since we've basically brainstormed and pretty much agreed upon the contents for the next Musings@Meridian. I'm really truly hoping to make it look like a real, truly professional magazine, and not some run of the mill school magazine.

Lectures weren't a drag, since I had fun conducting an impromtu fashion lecture before Literature lecture on Taming of The Shrew. The Tyra in me came out, and I conducted lessons on "smiling with your eyes", "hoochie pose vs high fashion" and "model basics". Unfortunately, the lesson was cut short as Mr Low came in. But, seriously, it was all in good fun.

Double GP for tomorrow has been canceled. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. Unfortunately, the essay still has to be submitted in by friday, together with GPP and literature essay. But whatever, the more pressing issue is how to get from choa chu kang back home, after the badminton match. Providing one way transport is just plain stupidity on the college's part. Now I'm angry, and nothing good ever comes out when the queen is angry.

p.s CONNIE, SOMETIMES YOUR LINK DOESN'T WORK. FIX IT.

storytelling

Bitch name: Phoenix

Meaning: A representation of something rising from the ashes. A rebirth of some sort, to signify a new life. To be used as a gauge of the relationship between little Cathy Linton and Hareton Earnshaw, whom, at first was divided by the social traditions and class of the Victorian age, before finally settling down together after the death of Linton, little Cathy's first husband, who was also her first cousin.

This relationship, though different, can be mirrored with that of the relationship of their fore-bearers, Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, the devil child who was picked up on the barren streets of Liverpool. A twisted morality of life, Catherine roams the plains between hell and earth, in the hopes of finding her true love. Heathcliff on the other hand, unable to move on from the grief caused by the death of his beloved, lived the life of a man in solitude. A man broken by his desire to seek true love - in the form of a dead woman.

QN: What happened to simple storytelling?

i've been talking, but not listening.

Yes it's 12.29am and yes I'm supposed to be sleeping but I just felt the urge to write. I was on Facebook doing the usually things one can do with Facebook, like the "How Well Do You Know so-and-so" and it dawned on me - I've been talking too much, I've not been listening. The quizzes were all in good fun and all, but come on, it does signify a certain little something right?

Unless the setter of the quiz decides to be an asshole and just create nonsensical, fake quizzes, there are some truth to the legitimacy of those quizzes right? More often than not, for most of the questions I did for my own quiz, it was based upon passing remarks I made in school. And if people had actually listened, the probability of getting a 100% is 1. The same goes to the quizzes of other people. If only I had listened, I wouldn't feel guilty of not passing the quizzes. Heck, I'll be confident to say that if I'd listened, I would have gotten that full 100%.

It's funny to me how a simple quiz on Facebook made me realise a true lesson in life. I've been talking too much, that I've not been listening. Therefore, I think I should change, but not the essence of me, but just change how I would normally react in situations. Somehow, to really make someone feel as though they mean something to you, the best way is to just listen to them, and not talk when they're talking. Of course interaction is good, but what good does talking bring if there's no communication? Communication is not just about talking, it's about listening too.

It's just a random post, and trust me to talk about this at midnight. But I guess sometimes, lessons in life hits you at any point of time. Mine just did, at 12.29 am, on a Sunday morning. *cue the Maroon 5 song now!*

Not Supposed To...

I told you all that I'll sleep in and boy did i make good use of my promise. Waking up at 2pm made my body ache like crazy, but who cares. I GOT TO SLEEP! That's a sentence that has rarely been used, and to me, it's considered a certain luxury reserved for the weekend. Anyways, I've been having weird, but satisfying dreams lately. Like, how I woke up just now feeling full although I've not eaten because I had a dream in which I was attending a buffet and I just stuffed myself with food. That's an ape shit dream I wish i have every bloody day so I don't have to eat real food. Or the dream I had last week, where I found a dress in my closet and I went crazy over it. HAHA, that was one hell of a hilarious dream. But enough about dreams, it's time to snap back into reality.

I suddenly realise I've been spewing bimbotic one-liners in school I could give Jessica Simpson a run for her money. Seriously, I must change to be the "epitome of seriousness and deepness", just like Connie. When Erfi and Syaf asked me who's the perfect woman I want to be with, I immediately said Hilary Duff. How dumb was that?

Anyways, I'm still searching for a really nice blogskin, and although this will do, it's only for the time being. I'm still supposed to be researching for more GPP information for the next draft, but yet I'm here, blogging and facebooking. GAH, I hate the internet for allowing me to access blogger and facebook.

Oh, and one more thing:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAMANNA!

Sleep Scarcity

Saying that sleep is a luxury to me this week is an absolute understatement. When you get less than an hour's sleep on average for 4 days straight, you're being led to a dazed and confused mindframe, and that's where lectures just whiz past without you realising it. So, I fully intend to sleep in until afternoon tomorrow, before waking up and start panicking about literature test and JCT.

Anyways, the ghost of my past has caught up with me, and it's the disdain for mathematics. I am going to fail the test without a doubt, since (a) I didn't practice the tutorials, (b) I was doing my GPP into the wee hours of the morning, and (c) I was home only at 11pm since Much Ado About Nothing was held at Fort Canning Park. The play by itself was alright, although it got into this whole web of confusion when the decided to infuse a Little Nonya-esque Perankan culture into what is supposed to be a respectable Shakespearean play.

Classes officially ended at 9.35am for me, but had to wait until 3pm for the Leadership Training Camp briefing. It was supposed to be at Kota Tinggi, but the location has been changed. (I AM NOW LAUGHING MY ASS OFF TYPING THIS!) So, basically, the location is Suu's backyard! NO KIDDING! It's gonna be held in Yishun. Hahahahaha. Basically, Suu can just come for the camp in the morning and walk home after the day is over. Hahaha. What an adventure camp it will be!

I'm done laughing my ass of now, ok not really, but yeah, it's kind of dumb. Ok, this GPP shiz is really killing me. Got to go research for more stuffs before submitting it to ST for first vetting. URRGH!

Little Birdie

An uneventful weekend passed by, and my way of spending it was to sleep like a pig. I've never slept for 24 hours straight since school started, so it was quite refreshing, although I did wake up today with a thumping head. Friday went by quickly, and Saturday was a blur, and as I'd said, I had slept for the entire day. Ooh, there was the NAPFA test on Friday, and I think I did alright. For someone who used to average 25 minutes for 2.4km, an 18 minute timing is quite impressive. I guess all that wellness shiz really helped me in the end.

Anyways, I just found an orgasmic inducing website just now. And NO, I'm not referring to a pornographic website. I found this fashion blog about this Korean girl living in London, and her clothes are fabulously stylish. Not only that, I found another website that retails clothes that look like they're from high-end brands, and the site is hosted in Korea. I guess I need Suu to help translate all those shiz to me.

There's really not much for me to write, since nothing interesting has happened over the past few days. But let me tell you guys something cool! There's this small little bird(a couple=male and female) who decided to build a nest on the branches of my mom's plant outside the house. It's super cute I tell you, albeit a bit not to my liking, because animals and me just don't gel together.

And yes, you're reading the blog of the president of the college publications! Hehe:)

H1N1

Give me a gun, so I'll blast it at my face.

Workload has become a little bit unbearable, and it's only the first day of the week. My eyes were tearing up yesterday as I worked towards finishing my Preliminary Idea 4.0 and GP Presentation from morning till evening, and now, after logging in into EVIL, I realised that the tutors decided to throw to us another project, this time to be done individually, to be handed in by next week. Just when I thought projects were so yesterday, comes another one right in my face, like a pie-throwing competition.

Anyway, on a lighter note, Atlas won one match and lost one, so at least that's something to be proud of. And MJC won the soccer match against RJC with a final score of 4-1. Ooh, the match just now, to me, was like watching a soap opera for a while, as there was a little rough play going on, from both sides, leading to punches being thrown. That's how I like matches to be, full of drama!

On a serious note, there is a possibility of the shutdown of schools because of the spread of swine fle Influenza H1N1. Apparently, there are suspected cases in Singapore as a result of the return of NUS students from their study trip in Mexico City. It's gonna go up to red soon, so people, if you have bras, spare me one, since masks are sold out at pharmacys and there's no way I can get a fabulous one anytime soon. I'd prefer Triumph, and maybe Sloggi. Victoria's Secret would be best.

And I have a nagging suspicion that I may not get the post I want in College Publications. Firstly, It's like a dream to be an editor of a magazine, and secondly, I'd love to go on that Leadership Camp in Malaysia. As you know, I was pretty low profile in terms of participation during my time at NASS, so I'd like to make my stay in MJC worthwhile. Oh dear god, please let me get it.

Now, let me go, so I can reach out the windows into your heaven.

"The future reveals a post polar ice cap world in which humans have made a tropical utopia out of their new environment. In this new day, the land is completely covered by the warm Pacific Ocean, with only the highest mountain peaks revealing themselves. People live in mobile lily pad homes. Generators dangle off the bottoms of the "Lily Pods" creating energy from the high temperatures and strong currents."

A sense of achievement, or a cause for concern?
