storytelling Bitch name: Phoenix Meaning: A representation of something rising from the ashes. A rebirth of some sort, to signify a new life. To be used as a gauge of the relationship between little Cathy Linton and Hareton Earnshaw, whom, at first was divided by the social traditions and class of the Victorian age, before finally settling down together after the death of Linton, little Cathy's first husband, who was also her first cousin. This relationship, though different, can be mirrored with that of the relationship of their fore-bearers, Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, the devil child who was picked up on the barren streets of Liverpool. A twisted morality of life, Catherine roams the plains between hell and earth, in the hopes of finding her true love. Heathcliff on the other hand, unable to move on from the grief caused by the death of his beloved, lived the life of a man in solitude. A man broken by his desire to seek true love - in the form of a dead woman. QN: What happened to simple storytelling? |
